§  Deloris Friske: Partners for Inclusion Consultant and FCC Trainer·          Do you have a biter in your child care and have you tried everything. The one-minute Behavior Modifier program has a component you might want to add to your “everything” list. Opportunity = Responsibility and how to handle your anger with negative behaviors are two other strategies. Adding these simple techniques to your knowledge of ages and stages of development will add another practical resource to your behavior guidance toolbox.

v  What to do with the MAD that you FeelØ  Core Competency Content Area I Child Growth and Development, II Learning Environment and Curriculum and IV: Interactions with Children

§  Lori Hameister Early childhood Educator, Mentor and FCC Provider·          When children are angry, that can be an especially difficult time for them – and their child care providers. Dealing with angry feelings during early childhood years is important. Children need to deal with their anger constructively to succeed in school and in the future at the workplace and in their family life. It’s important to realize that self-control is not a “moral” issue; it’s a “developmental” one. It grows in stages as the child develops and there are important things child care providers can do along the way to support that process.

v  The 5 C’s of CommunicationØ  Core Competency Content Area V: Families and Communities

§  Vicki Vavra, Early Childhood Educator, Former FCC Provider·          Parents and the child care providers will learn ways to communicate by listening and observing. Body language and discussion both communicate to us. We will identify the most challenging situations we face between parents and caregivers.
